The tear trough is the area just beneath the eye that separates the lower lid from the cheek. It is one of the first signs of aging. The hollowness that it creates results in complaints of patients looking tired and sad.

The cause of the problem could be originating from the cheek, so this needs to be established before treatment begins. If this is the case, then adding volume to the cheek pushes tissue into the tear trough and eliminates the deficit

When placed inside the body it absorbs water like a sponge, causing the volume to increase. The absorption of water hydrates the skin.

What is Filler Treatment to Tear Trough?

Local anaesthetic numbing cream will be applied 30 minutes prior to the procedure

Hyaluronic acid typically comes in 1 cc syringes and for this, you will need about 1 cc

A very fine cannula is used to perform the procedure

It is normally completed within 1o minutes

What is the Recovery Following Treatment

You are able to go home immediately after treatment

The filler is pliable for a couple of days after the procedure. The tear trough is a site where lumps can form. It is recommended that you gently massage the area for 5 minutes 5 times a day for the next couple of days whilst the filler is pliable

There may be mild discomfort at the injection sites. This is easily managed with paracetamol

It is common to experience swelling in the tear trough. The water absorption effect of the filler and thin skin in the area many exacerbate the effect. This typically settles after a couple of weeks. Massaging the area daily for this period is recommended

I came to Dr.Faisal not sure of anything. I wasn’t happy with my body as I had a lot of excess skin due to massive weight loss. I was scared of the idea of a surgery, so came in hoping for an alternative. Here I am months - 3 months post my surgery, wearing a pair of jeans that would have never fit me before. Two words to describe my experience with Dr. Faisal: life changing. I had a breast reduction and it has changed my life! The procedure itself was painful for the first 2 hours and much to my surprise I was ready to go home only 4 hours after waking up and ready to return to work only 3 days later.
